The mission of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) is to recognize and honor the academically talented students of the United States. NMSC accomplishes its mission by conducting nationwide academic scholarship programs. The National Merit® Scholarship Program has determined which of its 16,000 Semifinalists named in September 2020 have met all requirements to advance to Finalist standing in this year’s competition. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarship awards to be offered later in 2021. Two Molloy seniors, Samantha Lydon ’21 (pictured in our gymnasium with Principal Dr. Penikas) and Lydia Saffian ’21 (pictured in our library), have each been awarded a Certificate of Merit in recognition of their standing as Finalists.
