Virtual Enterprise Students Compete in Business Plan Competition

Over mid-winter break, Molloy’s Virtual Enterprise class competed in the NYC Citywide Business Plan Competition at St. Francis College! The class company, College Compass, is a digital college-planning platform designed to guide high school students through the college admissions process. According to one of Molloy’s VE teachers Mr. Joe Touzin, “The goal of the company is to reduce confusion and give students a clear, step-by-step pathway from junior year of high school through college acceptance.”

The Business Plan Competition required students to develop a comprehensive, investor-ready business plan and formally present it to a panel of judges. 50 total teams gathered for the competition, with the top seven advancing to the national competition in April. The competition featured two rounds: a preliminary round with five rooms of ten teams each, followed by a final round of ten teams, including the top two from each room. Students presented their business concepts, detailing the problem, target market, competitive edge, SWOT analysis, and financial projections. They then faced a live Q&A, defending their strategy and assumptions in real time.

Molloy’s VE class and their company finished first in their room and placed 6th overall in the finals, qualifying for nationals in April! Mr. Touzin says he is incredibly proud of his VE class, elaborating, “They are not just presenting slides; they are defending financial projections, responding to strategic challenges, and communicating to professionals as peers.” Congratulations to Emir Asa ’26 (CEO), Albion Geci ’26 (COO), Justin Totaram ’26 (CFO), Neil Loria ’26 (CMO), Ashley Cajamarca ’26 (VP of Advertising), and Kaitlyn Dailey ’26 (VP of Public Relations), and teachers Mr. Touzin and Mr. Beaudet!
