Speech & Debate Team Wins First Team Trophy of the Season
On October 25th, Molloy’s Speech and Debate Team competed at the Jackie Newton Memorial Tournament at The Mary Louis Academy! 11 Stanners attended and brought home multiple awards, including Molloy’s first team trophy of the season after placing 1st overall in Debate Sweepstakes!
Ryder Lombardo ‘27 and Matthew Xiao ‘27 earned 1st place in Varsity Public Forum, receiving a half qualification for the NYS Championships. Lucas Liu ‘27 also took 1st place in Lincoln Douglas Debate, while James Lukose ‘28 and Gongchen Liu ‘28 placed 3rd overall, just one round shy of finals. In Speech events, Juliette Bonello ‘27 was a finalist in Dramatic Performance, and Avinash Harpaul ‘26 was a finalist in Advanced Student Congress. Congratulations to all competitors, including Juneaux Fabello ‘27, Michelle Musse ‘27, Emily Shiwnaraine ‘28, and Sophia Maharaj ‘28, for competing and rounding out the entries!
