Molloy Welcomes Author Monica Sherwood During Women's History Month!

On March 19th, Molloy welcomed author and illustrator Monica Sherwood to speak with Stanners about her novel, “The Ice House!” Hosted by Molloy’s GERLL Club and Book Club, the event gave students a unique opportunity to hear about her journey as a writer, ask questions, and gain insight into the creative process, all while celebrating Women’s History Month!

During her visit, Monica answered questions about the publication process, where she finds inspiration, her experience as a woman in her field, and her future writing plans. She encouraged Stanners to trust their instincts and not let others stand in the way of their goals, adding, “Always focus on the positives around you, even when it feels like things aren’t going your way.” She encouraged students to “read as much as they can,” reminding them to follow their dreams because anything is possible. Molloy McGuinness ‘22, a Molloy alumna and former GERLL Club member, was also in attendance!
