Christmas Concerts: Stanners Spread Joy Through Music

Concert Ban, Sophomore Chorus, and String Ensemble Concert

On the evening of December 11th, the Molloy Concert Band, Sophomore Chorus, and String Ensemble gathered in the Jack Curran Gym for their annual Christmas Concert! Our Stanner musicians and vocalists performed fun, festive songs for friends and family and set a joyful tone for the season. The program featured an exciting blend of small ensembles and standout soloists, showcasing everything from classic holiday favorites to modern pop music! Members of Molloy’s drum ensemble, D-Limitz, also surprised the audience with a performance of their own!

During the concert, ten senior band members were inducted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Mrs. Maria Cuomo, Assistant Principal and advisor for Molloy’s Tri-M chapter, opened the ceremony by sharing, “Tri-M members, your dedication to music, your commitment to your studies, and your willingness to serve our school community make you worthy of this honor.” Congratulations to our newest inductees: Amir Ally, Matt Azriel Binay, Yoojin Chang, Carmine DeSimone, Jillian Kahn, Alya Molina Ramirez, Kaylani Ramirez, Jonathan Reiss, Dana Seo, and Emmerson Villaman!

The night was a huge success, with Mr. Daniel Jones, Sophomore Chorus Director and Band Conductor, bringing a palpable energy that captivated the crowd from the very first number until the final note. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this special event to life, and congratulations to all our talented Stanner singers and musicians on an outstanding performance!

Junior/Senior Chorus Concert

Congratulations to our Junior/Senior Chorus on a spectacular Christmas Concert on December 18th! Our talented Stanner vocalists filled the evening with holiday classics as friends, family, and fellow students supported them from the audience. Chorus Director, Mr. Jim Sheehan ’75, put on a wonderful show filled with beloved songs, festive holiday cheer, and a dynamic program that featured soloists, small ensembles, and powerful full-chorus performances.

During the event, 14 more seniors were inducted into Molloy’s chapter of the Tri-M Music Honor Society by Mrs. Maria Cuomo! Each student was honored with membership due to their dedication to music, as well as their excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service. Congratulations to Miah Checo, McKayla Ciulla, Sofia Crino, Isabella Fortunato, Melisha Gurung, Rania Hammami, Aine Harkins, Esme Kerr, Sophia Krevor, Alexander Lopez, Sydney Pullo, Edmundo Tochimani, Claudia Whitmore, and Yuvonnie Yeung on this incredible honor!

Thank you to Mr. Sheehan, as well as Mr. Kenneth A. Farnum for accompanying the chorus on piano, and everyone else who made the night possible. The Christmas Concert was the perfect way to get everyone ready for break!
