Each year of English at Archbishop Molloy High School revolves around a specific theme students can relate to. 

English 9

During their first year at Molloy, freshmen read 5-6 full length works over the course of the entire school year that revolve around the The Journey. Students taking Honors English read an additional 1-2 titles.

 

English 10

Sophomore year English introduces students to the theme of Coming of Age, where they will read 6 full length works over the course of the school year. Honors students will read 8 full length works. 

 

English 11

During junior year, students read 6-8 full length works all having to do with The Human Condition in preparation for the New York State English Regents Exam. All students take the exam. 

 

English 12

Students are required to take 1 credit of English senior year to fulfill graduation requirements. They can take either two half-year English electives, or a full year of AP English Language & Composition.
