This year, students have been allowed to carry hard reusable water bottles during the day. When students returned from Christmas break in January they were surprised with a brand new bottle filling station outside the chapel! The station replaced the old fashioned water fountain many Stanners would remember. A second station has since been installed near the library, again replacing an old fountain. Each station features increased water pressure, an easy bottle filling function, and a digital counter that tracks how many plastic bottles have been saved with each use. In all, the bottle filling stations are more sanitary, will help keep students hydrated, and will be more eco-friendly by saving plastic waste. Combined these two fountains have already saved over 4,500 plastic bottles in just 2+ months. More stations are on the way for the classroom floors over the next several months!
