encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones

The Murphy Scholars Program

Giving Stanners the opportunity to discover their passions out in the real world.

The Program

The Murphy Scholars Program was created in 2019 with the goal of assisting rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in pursuing educational enrichment opportunities at various colleges and universities over the summer. It was named after Dr. Patrick Murphy ‘60, a teacher and guidance counselor at Molloy who helped build the Peer Group and counseling program. He pushed students to reach their full potential by encouraging them to branch out and pursue experiences outside of their comfort zones.

"At the Air Force Academy, the experience prepared me to see if the Air Force Academy was right for my future. Hearing the current cadets speak was very eye opening, as they had gone through this process only a couple years before us."
