Community & Belonging
The Marist Office of Community and Belonging - Seen, Known, and Loved
At Archbishop Molloy High School, to be a member of our community is to be part of a family. As a Marist school, we are called to foster a spirit of inclusion, ensuring that every student, parent, faculty member, staff member, and community member is treated with the utmost respect and dignity.
To strengthen this commitment, The Marist Office of Community and Belonging was established to reflect not only our dedication to diverse community but also our mission to create a culture of belonging grounded in Marist values, pillars, and charisms. Our work is centered on the belief that true inclusion is not just about representation—it is about honoring the uniqueness of every individual while building a community where all are seen, known, and loved.
Strengthening Our Catholic Identity Through the Marist Lens and Belonging
Since 2021, Dr. Alice Prince has served as an independent consultant, helping to lead teacher training, professional development, and discussions that deepen our commitment to belonging. Dr. Prince emphasizes that true diversity and inclusion at Molloy are achieved through strengthening our Catholic identity, actively fostering belonging, and committing to systemic change. She shares, “Living our Marist values and standing upon our Marist pillars not only affirms that we are all made in God’s likeness and image but also reinforces that building a strong community of belonging is at the heart of our Catholic Social Teachings.”
Student Input & Leadership
Molloy’s Student Committee meets regularly with administrators to share ideas and explore ways for students to express and celebrate their cultural identities, traditions, uniqueness, and faith. Their leadership has led to initiatives such as homeroom flag parades, professional panels, cultural celebrations, and expanded educational resources. These efforts help ensure that every student has the opportunity to share their story and feel a sense of belonging in our community.
Our Commitment
Molloy is committed to fostering a community where students, faculty, and staff of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, cultures, immigration statuses, academic learning styles, genders, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds can thrive. As we continue this work, we recognize that belonging is an ongoing journey—one that requires faith, love, and action.
In the spirit of St. Marcellin Champagnat, we remain dedicated to welcoming all, loving all, and ensuring that every member of our Molloy family is truly seen, known, and loved.
Council for Diversity & Inclusion
In 2020, Molloy’s Administration, working with community leaders representing the many racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds that comprise our student body, created the Council for Diversity & Inclusion. The Council is an independent advisory group that works with the School Board and Administration to share insights and make recommendations about policies and procedures pertaining to diversity and inclusion. It is driven by a dedicated group of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and industry experts who are committed to working collaboratively with Molloy to cultivate an inclusive institutional culture.
