Just because there are no “classes” going on in the school, that does not mean that the school is not active… Summer camps, construction, maintenance and other off-site activities keep the spirit of Molloy alive and growing.
On my recent visit to the school I noticed three major activities.

Gino Fazio and his cast of construction gurus are busy every day at the school. Not much gets by when you put a Stanner in charge of a project like this. From the day the tear-down started, throughout this month, carpenters, plumbers, electricians and other construction experts along with our own team of “inspectors” –- (photographs courtesy of Brother Roy), have been checking on the progress. Deliveries of supplies come in every day. When I was in recently I saw table tops, cabinets and about 100 boxes of supplies and equipment for the new lab.

Our hats are off in acknowledgement of Gino and his team. They have done excellent work and are pushing hard to complete it for use this first semester.

I would be remiss if I didn’t point out the countless hours all of the members of our School Directory invest in Molloy. Their committee work, the various projects they direct and the experience they bring to the table contribute to sustaining Molloy’s commitment to excellence.
Stay tuned to the Stanner E-News next month for an update on the progress of this major renovation project.

The Gyms were alive with the sound of competition and skill development this summer as Coach Curran conducted his annual Basketball Camp at Molloy. I visited with Coach Curran and Coach McCleary as they directed the camp and challenged these young students to stretch their skill sets and develop a positive attitude toward their physical development.
The reunion for all class years ending with the digits 3 and 8 are invited to attend their reunion. It is scheduled for November 1, 2008 at the school and will begin with our annual Mass of Remembrance, followed by cocktail parties, special 50th and 25th reunion recognition events and a surprise guest from the class of 1968 and talent from two other classes… register on line at alumni.molloyhs.org.
We have just heard from Brother Charles Imbergamo that his mother is ill and as you can see from his note, he requests our prayers for her healing and recovery. Brother Charles is a Stanner and a member of our School Directory.
Dear all:
We received word yesterday that my mom has DCIS (Ductile Carcinoma in Situ), which is the earliest possible stage (stage 0) of breast cancer that one can have. The doctor is confident that they extracted all of the affected cells as the perimeter cells around the suspicious area were all clean. Needless to say, there will need to be follow-up with doctors, oncologists, and radiologists…
That’s what we know for now. The doctor feels that if cancer was a possibility here, Mom has the best possible kind to beat.
I humbly ask for your prayers for my family during this time. Thanks.
Peace,
Brother Charles D. Imbergamo, FMS
That’s all for now, we will be hosting a number of events this year. Watch the Stanner E-News for updates and information. Please take a few minutes this summer to update your information on line to assure that you will be kept up to date on your class activities and updates from the school.
God Bless all Stanners!
