And a good time was had by all.

There were more than 300 golfers and diners at the 22nd Annual Jim Kinnier Stanner Classic this year. The proceeds from this outing were set aside to fund the John Gibbons Memorial Scholarship. The Gibbons family along with a number of guests celebrated the inauguration of the new trophy and scholarship fund.

Academics

AP Review Class – As the year comes to an end, the AP classes are taking exams and attending a number of review classes held in various locations at all hours of the evenings, mornings, and weekends. Now, that is dedication!

Musical – Cast Party today – The cast and crew of Guy’s and Doll’s is having their cast party today. They will be presenting their director with a signed cast photograph. Mr. Sherry hosted the party in abstentia as he is spending a few days in Florida this weekend.

Non Scholae Sed Vitae - Coach Curran’ Sister

Portait of Jack Curran

As you all know by now, Coach Jack Curran’s beloved sister Helen passed away this week. The particulars concerning the wake and funeral were e-mailed to all who have registered on line. In the past few months I have taken a few minutes to ask about Helen’s treatments and progress. You can tell the full measure of a man by his faith and his love for his family. Coach loved his sister and they shared a rich and full life together. These last few weeks have understandably been difficult but I know for certain that Coach feels the prayers of all Stanners and is confident in his faith that Helen is with God.

Your cards and thoughts can be sent to him at the school.

Dr. Murphy

We received the following update from Chris Dougherty concerning Dr. Murphy this week.

As of a Wednesday night phone call with Peggy Murphy she said the Doctors are “cautiously optimistic,” but Patrick is still listed as critical but stable. Peggy said the only visitors right now are family and even the family is limiting their visits (Pat gets easily frustrated due to his heavy sedation, breathing tube, and difficulty communicating).

She said keep the prayers coming fast & plenty! And so we shall.
