Richard Karsten '81 | President

In June of 2010, Richard Karsten was appointed President of Archbishop Molloy High School. Since he graduated from Molloy in 1981, Richard has been a very active alumnus, lending his business and creative expertise while working on capital campaigns for his alma mater including "Continuing the Vision" in 1987 and the "Stanners for Life" campaign in 2005. When Molloy first created its School Board in the early 1990s, Richard served as a founding member and provided his leadership on the Public Relations and Marketing Committee for 8 years. Richard is also an active volunteer in and around his community of Forest Hills, routinely lending his time and resources to his parish at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church.

As President of Molloy, Richard possesses a unique perspective having experienced Molloy as a student, alumnus, Board Member and most recently a parent of three Stanner graduates. Working with the administration, faculty, Stanner Alumni Center, and the present day School Board, Richard oversees budgets and finance, investments, facility improvements and maintenance, information technology, capital projects and student recruitment. As the key person responsible for fundraising, Richard cultivates the financial support that the school needs to assure the future of quality Catholic education in the Marist tradition at Molloy.

Craig Katinas '93 | Alumni Development Director

Craig is a member of Molloy's Class of 1993 and currently serves as the school's Alumni Development Director. He is one of three brothers who attended Molloy (Eric ’87, Brad ’90) and is honored to serve the entire Stanner Community. Craig has over 15 years of experience working in fundraising and development. He has been privileged to be taught, trained, and mentored by some of the most widely respected fundraising professionals in the United States. Earlier work saw Craig in a role as Executive Director with Community Counseling Services (CCS), one of the premiere non-profit consulting, strategy, and fundraising firms in the world which fellow Stanner Robert Kissane’74 is President. During his time at CCS, Craig had the opportunity to work with diverse organizations in the areas of Medicine, Education, Faith-Based, and Civic.

He later assumed the role as Director of Development at the American Red Cross in Nassau County, a position which saw him gain new perspectives on global philanthropy and was instrumental in overseeing various fundraising efforts which raised millions in disaster relief funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina and other international disasters. Following his work with the Red Cross, Craig once again worked in a lead role, this time as Director of Philanthropic Giving at the Alive in Hope Foundation the 5th largest Catholic Community Foundation of its kind in the United States. All told, Craig helped many outstanding organizations raise over $100 million through his tireless efforts - a fact that has benefitted Molloy for the past 3 years.

Since returning to Molloy, Craig has played key roles in Molloy’s scholarship programs, Fund For Molloy, it’s social and professional groups, and planned giving. He takes great pleasure in helping fellow Stanners “pay it forward” to help present students in their journey through some of the most important years of their lives. He is grateful for the chance to work along-side a dedicated and phenomenal Stanner Alumni Center, administration, faculty, and staff.
