Meeting Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays
The chess club meets twice a week. Students are expected to spend at least two hours playing chess with the club each week. This time may be divided 1 hour each day or 2 hours on one day. Only a general understanding of chess is needed. Students are taught principles which are basic to the game. There is a chess competition against other students which runs from Nov. through April. Members of the club who show high playing skills are selected to play on the Chess Team.
