Mr. Brian Kelly
Mr. Brian Kelly graduated from Molloy in 1994. After receiving a BA in English from Siena College in 1998, he spent a year as a substitute teacher for Catholic and Public Schools – ranging from 1st to 12th grades. He became the permanent 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading, Language Arts, and Science teacher at St. Sylvester School in City-line Brooklyn for the next three years, while earning his MS in Secondary Education English through Queens College. In 2002, Mr. Kelly got the call to return to the Hallowed Halls as a member of the English Department and could not refuse the offer. Since that time, he has taught regular and honors courses for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Inspired by many of the teachers which he now calls colleagues, his class is based on the mantra: READ TO UNDERSTAND; NOT TO GET-IT-DONE! He hopes his students will be inspired to learn as he did–not for school; but for life.
Outside of class you can also find Mr. Kelly running the National Honor Society (former) and Intramural Sports program; helping out at Freshman Field Day and the Stanner Games; or in Esopus for retreats and Freshman Camp. He can be reached at: firstname.lastname@example.org
